Shaver Public Affairs clients include leaders in health care, energy, higher education, and professional sports. Maureen’s expertise on public policy issues is routinely sought as a confidential senior advisor to elected officials. Most notably, she served former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty as a senior advisor and key strategist during his two terms, including his election, transition to office, governing, and re-election.
Prior experience included re-establishing the state government affairs practice at the Dorsey and Whitney law firm, and as a partner with North State Advisers, representing Fortune 500 companies, large trade associations, health plans and professional sports teams. Additionally, Maureen remains active in meaningful campaigns and seeks to support organizations encouraging women to participate in the political process.
As an experienced and respected leader in public affairs, Maureen has regularly provided political commentary and analysis for major Minnesota media outlets, including WCCO radio & television, Twin Cities Public TV, and Minnesota Public Radio, while also speaking widely to interest groups during the election season. Maureen received a B.A. in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and lives with her husband, Craig Shaver in the western Twin Cities where they raised their two adult sons.
